Comments and Reviews
Open Source. Supported by large community. Especially useful with semantic-mediawiki
MediaWiki doesn't care what users think. They don't ask "How would you rate the article you read?" questions. I don't know if any Extensions can fix this or how easily...
It takes decades for MediaWiki developers to do even some basic stuff...
Nobody makes money with MediaWiki except fanatics.
do you think Miraheze is better?
MediaWiki has major problems which are decades old now... Developers don't use their own programs or don't care fix problems.
Most other companies don't care about Wikitext at all... Wikitext isn't a standard. Wikitext brings more problems than it solves anything.
MediaWiki developers censor criticics of MediaWiki nearly EVERYWHERE.
I goes well beyond what you can do with just an encyclopedia. I allows for knowledge management at its best catering for a very large variety of use cases.
Very good software to me. Very easy to self-host yet powerful!
Best knowledge management platform I've found
it powers most wiki sites, but its UI / UX is stuck in 2002. We need an alternative to MediaWiki which can import all content from other wiki sites & rehost it onto a good 2018-styled MediaWiki.
not many realize with MediaWiki you have in some use-cases a youTube alternative (see here )
Not usable now.
