mconnect is described as 'Vala/C implementation of KDE Connect. There is also a GNOME extension (https://github.com/andyholmes/gnome-shell-extension-mconnect/), which also works with the official KDE Connect'. There are three alternatives to mconnect for a variety of platforms, including Android, Linux, Mac, Windows and Plasma Mobile. The best alternative is KDE Connect, which is both free and Open Source.
