This is one of the greatest software for animation and game development
I don't see linux as one of the supported operating systems for this program, yes the 2016 version only supports centos 6.5 and redhat 6.5 WS so it may not work on other distros but still supports linux

and I feel that there are more out there. It is different from the other VR sets, it doesn't forces on games but more on how to get i to the real world.
Autodesk Maya best software in the world, i know it not free but it's good program you have to try this now Autoesk maya changed and upgraded 2017

Autodesk Maya is changed now 2016 you can use any purpose like blender sculpting, 3d model , vector graphic , motion graphic , creating 2d or 3d gaming models , photorealistic pictures,Dynamics & effects,3D rendering & shading , Pipeline integration , but problem is it's not free but still it's better than blender or 3ds max
oh thx for the information i didnt know that maya do support linux. thats a good news actually i am using ubuntu for one year now and i can do all things on it except flash i hope we will see it in future
