Comments and Reviews
Very good to view pdf. I replaced evince with it.
The software looks nice, and it IS free, but it will inject a watermark. $50 for the un marked version.
For simple tasks, like boxing text, highlighting text, writing comments or notes, this is very good software.
It's not as good as something like Foxit at editing the actual PDF and OCR capabilities, but it is very convenient.
When I switched from Windows to Linux I was looking for an alternative to the free PDF Xchange Viewer resp. Editor. In PDF Xchange Viewer resp. Editor you can open many documents in separate tabs and I liked the feature to easy exchange pages from one document to another by drag and drop. There are many free PDF programs for Linux, but no one of these can open two or more documents in one window like tabbed browsing. I checked two programs: Qoppa PDF Studio and Master PDF Editor. Both are able to open two or more documents in tabs and exchange pages from one document to another by drag and drop. I prefer Master PDF Editor (testing ongoing with keygen) which is faster and smaller than Quoppa. Price price would also be cheaper. There is a free Master PDF Editor version 4.3.89 still available. It is very good and can open two or more documents in tabs. But exchange pages from one document to another by drag and drop is not possible.
AWFUL! I mean, what is the point in even bothering with something that is supposed to not only view, and even not only edit--hence, the name, I know--any PDF files, but it promises that you can even write from blank pages (i.e., create) a PDF file. But after spending half an hour tweaking the settings, getting the page set up just how I want it, when I finally hit the T button, to signify TEXT, as in I want to test it out, see how it drives...you know, like a test drive? NOPE!! I get this giant, ugly mustard-yellow banner across the top of my document-in-waiting-to-be, my not yet edited, never gonna get weddited...I know, sorry, I use humor when stressed out. Where was I, peanuts, that's right. It wasn't worth even downloading! It said in the banner, "This feature is not allowed in the unregistered, free version." And next to it, is a button to...that is right!...register! As if the gigantic UNREGISTERED VERSION included in the top banner with the Master PDF Editor Title. But sheesh! How do they expect anyone to fork out...what did nbaxley say? $50? And that over 8 years ago according to the website Alternative To ... anyway, NO! No, nix, nada, nuh-uh, zilch, zip, bupkes, and the big old Goose Egg,..0! Don't waste your time! Really. Not at all worth even 50 cents!
Updated review: After 2 years of use (PAID), I must admit that this PDF editor gave me a lot of headches. I was constantly encountering bugs and error messages. If I wanted to sign a document, signature image was upside and could not find a way to change this (I think they later fix this). Oftenly update page is down (I think this is a Russian software and maybe it's suffering a blockade?). One of many things I use is the measurement tool that is OK but I dont understand that there is no opcion to choose units. OCR is awful and text editing, too. I'm going to try other PDF Editor. Little by little there are more alternatives.
The best PDF editor for Linux users. You have to pay but it's worth it. If you buy it in the online store in Russia it is a little cheaper (use translator and VPN). Unlike Libreoffice Draw, Master PDF can open PDF with many pages. It is also the only PDF editor (that I know of) that allows you to sign with a digital certificate. The only thing that I have been able to notice that it lacks is the function to join several PDFs...
So, I have been using the free version of Master-PDF for about 2 years. I like what it did and decided to take the leap to purchase the product. In order to complete the process of purchase you need to complete the following steps: 1. Use a normal online order form. 2. Receive a phone call from the developer. 3. Email over a picture of your driver's license. What a load of ******.
