Malmoi connects the locale files in your repository with a web-based translation editor. Developers keep source strings in code, teammates edit translations in the browser, and changes return through your existing code review workflow.
Connect a repository, discover its locale files, and invite your team. Translators can work without editing files or learning Git, while developers review and merge the results on GitHub or GitLab.com.
REPOSITORY TO EDITOR AND BACK
- Discover locale files in your existing repository structure.
- Manage multiple translation sources and file formats in one project.
- Preview saved changes before publishing.
- Create or update one reusable pull request or merge request, keeping translations together for review.
TRANSLATE WITH CONTEXT
- Browse sources and namespaces, or search across keys, source text, and translations.
- Filter for incomplete translations, new keys, entries that need review, or changes waiting to be sent.
- See where a string is used in code when references are collected by the CI workflow.
- Track translation changes with before-and-after values and project activity history.
KEEP YOUR FILE STRUCTURE
Malmoi supports JSON and YAML catalogs, Chrome extension messages, and TypeScript or JavaScript dictionaries, including layouts with one file per language or multiple languages in one file.
YAML and code dictionaries retain comments, blank lines, and key order. JSON catalogs and Chrome messages retain formatting details such as indentation and field order, keeping translation changes easier to review.
SYNC WITHOUT OVERWRITING WORK IN PROGRESS
- Generate a GitHub Actions workflow or GitLab CI job to import updates from your base branch.
- Automatically flag translations for review when their source text changes.
- Pause automatic imports while saved translations are waiting to be sent or a Malmoi pull request or merge request is still open.
- Retain translations for keys removed from code, so they can return if those keys are restored.
TEAM COLLABORATION
Invite teammates by email as owners or editors. Editors can translate and publish changes for review; owners manage repository connections, settings, and members. Final code review and merging stay in your repository.
MCP FOR CODING AGENTS
Connect an MCP-compatible coding agent to work with Malmoi using your project permissions. You control the access granted to each connection. Malmoi itself does not call an AI model.
HOSTED OR SELF-HOSTED
Use the free hosted service or run Malmoi on your own infrastructure with Docker Compose. Malmoi is open source under the MIT license, with no paid plans.
The interface is available in English, Korean, and Spanish, with light, dark, and system themes.
