The mail summariser you can hand a phishing mail to. Reads a mirror mailbox, strips every message to plain text in code, has a second model check for phishing, and delivers text-only digests to Telegram, Discord or Signal. Installable via apt and dnf.

What is MailDigest?

MailDigest is a self-hosted e-mail summariser that never touches your real mailbox. You forward mail to a mirror mailbox; MailDigest reads it over IMAP, strips every message to plain text in deterministic code, summarises it with a language model, has a second, independent model check it for phishing, and sends the result to Telegram, Discord or Signal. Nothing clickable ever reaches you: links are replaced by their defanged domain, attachments become a name and a size, HTML is gone. Unimportant mail arrives as one daily digest. The models have no tools, no network and no file access, so a prompt injection can produce a wrong summary and nothing else. Works with Anthropic, any OpenAI-compatible endpoint (including local models), or without a model at all. Installable via apt, dnf, pip or Docker; a Raspberry Pi is enough. MIT licence, source on GitHub.
