lompii is a free, private visual inspiration library for Windows. Save images, screenshots, page captures, quotes and text snippets from any website, then find them again by describing what you remember. No folders, no account, no cloud.
Why lompii
You saved it months ago: a dark website with huge type, a poster in a particular orange, a line someone wrote that stuck. You don't remember where it was, what it was called, or which folder it went into. lompii remembers for you.
How it works
-
Save from anywhere. The lompii browser extension for Chrome and Firefox adds "Add to lompii" to the right-click menu on every site. Save an image at full resolution, a quote, the visible page, the full page, or an area you drag over (Alt+Shift+S). You can also drag files into the app or paste with Ctrl+V.
-
lompii understands it. Every save automatically gets a title, a summary, tags and its colour palette. You file nothing.
-
Find it by describing it. Type what you remember, like "grainy portrait, deep shadow" or "purple hills at dusk". lompii's AI search matches how images look (CLIP), what they mean (MiniLM), and the text inside them, even when none of those words are in the title.
Features
- Semantic image search: find images by description, not file names
- Automatic tagging, summaries and colour palette extraction
- Click any colour swatch to copy its hex code
- "Same vibe": find visually similar images
- Generate text-to-image prompts for Midjourney, DALL-E and Stable Diffusion
- Browser extension for Chrome and Firefox
- Global shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+L) to bring lompii forward from any app
Private by design
lompii is local-first. There is no account and no lompii server. Your library and its search run entirely on your computer. The only thing that ever leaves your machine is the item you send to the AI provider you chose, and if you choose a local model, nothing leaves at all.
Bring your own AI
Use a key from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Google Gemini or OpenRouter, or run fully offline with Ollama or LM Studio. Searching by description works with no AI key at all.
Who it's for
Designers, UI/UX designers, illustrators, photographers, writers, art directors, and anyone who collects visual references, moodboards or design inspiration.
Free and open source
lompii is free and MIT-licensed. A private alternative to Pinterest boards, mymind, Eagle and browser bookmarks for keeping your inspiration.
