What is Lockish?
Lockish protects individual macOS applications with Touch ID or password authentication. Protected apps lock automatically after a configurable per-app idle timeout, when the Mac sleeps, or when the screen locks, while the rest of the system stays fully usable.
Unlike full-screen lockers, Lockish only locks the protected app: other windows and apps keep working while the locked app shows an authentication overlay. It requires no Screen Recording permission, blocks keyboard input to locked apps, covers all windows of a protected app including background windows, and requires Touch ID to quit Lockish itself so protection cannot be bypassed by closing it.
Typical uses include protecting messaging, banking, and email apps on shared or observed Macs. Lockish is a one-time purchase with a 7-day free trial and lifetime updates, runs entirely on-device, and collects no data. Requires macOS 14.0 or later; Touch ID recommended with password fallback.
