Comments and Reviews
Perfect. Its a FOSS version of AirDrop. I don't like apple phones and have been wishing for something like this ever since i've got my macbook. works like a charm on my home network. outside it may need a hotspot or something depending on the place you are on network's firewall rules..
LocalSend completely changed how I share files at home. No more USB drives or cloud services—just instant, direct transfers between all my devices. The app is lightweight but powerful. Since I started using it, my workflow has never been smoother. Open-source, no internet required, and zero tracking—this is how local file sharing should work. An absolute essential for anyone with multiple devices!
A super handy file-sharing app that works across multiple platforms like Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux. It’s open-source, free, and ad-free, making file transfers over the same local Wi-Fi network quick and easy, with no internet needed. The app is simple to use with a clean interface, letting you send files, folders, and text (including copied text). It assigns quirky device names by default, adding a fun touch. Transfers are fast and reliable, perfect for sharing large files at home or work. Incoming files require your approval unless you enable quick save. It's a great Quick Share and AirDrop alternative that works seamlessly and privately.
Super easy setup and works GREAT!!
good multidevices
Aside from needing to keep it in foreground, poor file manager integration, and lack of continuation of interrupted transfers, (all on Android) this has to be the best alternative to AirDrop and Quick Share
The file transfer speed is high, but it is not practical to have to open the application on the mobile phone when transferring files from the computer. Setting battery usage to unlimited did not work.
