Outertech (Germany) have shut down business in late 2020. They are just selling their software (Linkman, Cacheman, StartEd...), but with no support, and no more updates. So these programs should be marked 'Discontinued').

By all means it is the best. Somewhat old fashioned but you don't need to subscribe or upload your info to the always suspicious cloud.
Linkman still available. Visit: https://www.outertech.com/en/bookmark-manager

Linkman Pro is not freemium. There was a program to have payment covered by trying different products, but the link is dead. There is a separate download for Linkman Lite (free) vs Linkman Pro. Once you adjust to Linkman, it may be a great program, but it really isn't as easy to bring things in as with AM-Deadlink.. which doesn't delete things as well as I wish.
Can you clarify if Linkman Pro can delete dead links perfectly?
I gave up on trying to bring links in.
It is the best software to manage thousands of bookmarks cross browsers, it needs to be available for linux users.
I agree, it would be very good to have cross-platform support, even if it's only for the reassurance that you're not stuck with one browser on one operating system, like the bad old days.
