What is LibreMerge?

LibreMerge brings the WinMerge experience beyond Windows. It reuses WinMerge's battle-tested comparison engine (GNU diffutils + git xdiff, folder scanning, moved-block detection, Unicode handling) and rebuilds the interface natively with Qt 6. If you know WinMerge, you already know LibreMerge: the layout, colors and workflow are intentionally the same.

Features: side-by-side file comparison and merging (2-way and 3-way) with word-level highlights and ghost-line alignment; free editing with live recompare; folder comparison with tree view, filters and copy/delete operations; CSV/TSV table comparison with cell-level diff highlighting; syntax highlighting for 47 languages; line filters (regex) and moved-block detection; find & replace; light and dark themes; English and Brazilian Portuguese interface.

Available as a universal macOS app (Intel + Apple Silicon, macOS 12+, also via Homebrew), Linux AppImage (x86_64 and arm64) and Debian package. Licensed GPL-3.0 — free forever, no accounts, no telemetry.
