What is LearnAwesome?
LearnAwesome.org is building humanity's universal learning map. It is a social network for learners to share reviews on learning resources in all kind of formats such as like books, courses, apps, podcasts, newsletters, livestreams etc. Open-source and ActivityPub compliant.
There's a companion browser extension available on Chrome, Brave & Firefox which lets users do a quick lookup or add new links in the system. The resources are tagged with rich metadata such as format, topics, duration, cost and quality attributes such as entertaining / visual / challenging etc. External recommendations are also imported which makes searches like "show me videos on machine-learning which are less than 20 minutes long and are recommended by researchers" possible.
Users can follow each other and reviews can be posted to both in-app timeline and other ActivityPub-compliant apps. LearnAwesome also provides peer-groups for learning with a project-based approach which are curated by selected experts.
It is an open-source suite of apps (webapp, browser extension, mobile apps) etc, licensed under CC-BY-NC-ND license.
