It's exceptionally stable and has all of the hallmarks of a FLOSS project with over 20 years of active development, like a robust but well-pruned feature set, lots of subtle ways of providing contextual information such as with tooltips, and is easy to write scripts for.
The topper for me is that it honestly makes the nicest channel/query/session logs of any client I've used over nearly 30 years on IRC; I love it when devs anticipate what users may need but don't know they do.
Even something as small as adding the co-channels (chat rooms in common with another user) to the top of every query log, I would've never thought to script that myself but they knew it was good to have on hand and sure enough, not too long ago I did in fact have a need for it.
Excellent in terms of features, how easy to use it is etc. I find it way better than mIRC, for example. I tested version 5 and it crashed on me once (on windows 10), but I still recommend version 4 which I used extensively back in the day.
Still the best IRC client for windows, esp. if you look for more customization and script possibilities
This applications beats the s*** out of both mIRC and XChat for the scriptability, features and GUI.
If you like mIRC or XChat, then you will like this even more.
Yes I am shocked that all of the streamers I see online use mIRC when this is soooo much better. Also XChat and mIRC cost $$$ on windows. Heck you can get a script that makes it look and act just like mIRC.
Xchat is $$$, not Xchat-wdk though.
EDIT : Xchat-wdk is now known as HexCHat
