I give it 4 stars because there's still a lot of room for improvements. But barebones mind mapping and diagramming. It's extremely better than anyone else. Like Jeremy said in the other comment, You can focus on what you're doing instead of organizing what you're doing.
You have very few design choices to make and that's a good thing for live-fire brainstorming.
Here's a novel use case that I would use no other product for (and I think I've tried them all): Diagramming Code.
Using this to diagram code is extremely useful. What I find it does for me is it helps me find inefficiencies while also giving me the big picture view of how everything relates. You can do this in any other platform sure, but not with the ease that you can with kinopio.club.
So really I give it five stars, because you can't get this level of UI/UX in any other code diagramming solution that I can find.

I like Kinopio because it has intuitive interactions and quirky design. It really feels like you're focused on what you're doing instead of how to organise what you're doing.
Beautiful, smol, playful, well designed, functional
Kinopio is great at it's simplicity in UX and use, yet powerful enough to put everything you wanted on the board. I especially like that you can multi-connect cards, kind of small but useful feature not common in mind-mapping software.
Kinopio is the most fun, creative, and inspiring tool I have used in recent memory. It is delightful and I love getting my thoughts out on its freeform canvas.
