What is KDE KMPlayer?
KDE KMPlayer is a comprehensive multimedia software with a variety of features to enhance user interaction. It can play DVD/VCD movies from a file, URL, or video device, making it a flexible tool for viewing different video content. The software can also be integrated with Konqueror for smooth movie playback within the web browser.
This software has unique features such as embedding movie playback in an HTML page when used with KHTML. KDE KMPlayer also allows movie recording using mencoder, a part of the mplayer package. During recording, video playback is unavailable, but users can open a new window to play the video.
Moreover, KDE KMPlayer supports broadcasting and HTTP streaming via ffserver/ffmpeg. To utilize TV sources, users require v4lctl, which is included in the xawtv package.
