What is Jenner?

Jenner is a SAS-compatible analytics platform. It runs the SAS programs an organisation already has - the DATA step, the macro language, PROC SQL and 230 documented procedures - without requiring a SAS license.

It is a clean-room implementation of the SAS 9.4 language, written in Rust. Existing programs run as written rather than being ported to another language, which is usually the part that makes leaving SAS too expensive to start.

Jenner runs in three places, billed the way each place works:

  • In your browser: a hosted JupyterLab workspace your team shares. Free tier, then arranged.
  • On your machine: native apps for macOS, Windows and Linux, running on your own hardware. Free to start; the Mac app is a subscription, while the Windows and Linux licences are perpetual and cover one machine each.
  • From your systems: programs executed over HTTP, for pipelines and agents. Free tier, then arranged.

The procedure reference is published in full, in 16 languages.
