We began using online quizzes in the mid 2000’s with clients and for our own applications. It was a challenge to find a quiz development program that had all of the features we needed. In the last ten years, our collection of quizzes has grown both in size and quality. Our popular Learning Nurse public education website now hosts 160+ nursing quizzes with over 12,000 questions. We have also developed and maintain over 100 more quizzes and exams for various clients.
In 2016, we decided to switch all of our quizzes to iSpring’s QuizMaker. We carefully evaluated many other popular quiz software programs, and determined that QM was the best choice. We were aware of iSpring products earlier, but it wasn’t until iSpring 8 that we felt their software had become among the best in the market. Conversion was not an easy task. We hired someone to basically do it manually, which took several months. We’re glad we did it!
Previously we had used about a half a dozen other quiz programs. One thing we really liked about QM was the layout and ease of use. Compared to competitors, it was easy to learn and use; there was essentially no learning curve. Other features that we really liked were: multiple output options that were suitable for different applications; and with their player app, the quizzes could be completed on desktops, laptops, tablets and smart phones AND downloaded for offline use. The quizzes could handle different media – images, videos and audio.
There were enough options for creating custom templates to match various corporate styles. QM is available in 64 bit, so that working with a final exam with 450 questions is a breeze. The software allows us to ask for, and capture, additional test taker data; send e-mail results to the instructor or teacher; and optionally send e-mail results to the student and/or anyone else he or she wishes. QM is remarkably stable and reliable; even though hundreds of quizzes are completed every day, we have yet to hear any complaints of problems from our users.
For our own test applications, we do not use an LMS. However, we do want to track the quiz results for research and evaluation purposes. So one important feature that iSpring QuizMaker has is the ability to easily send a set of quiz variables to a server. We send quiz results to a php script that passes data on to a Certificate program, and also to a MySQL database table. None of the other quiz programs we look at had that capability; they all said that was the job of the LMS.
Another big positive for us is that iSpring is continuously improving their programs. When we first acquired QuizMaker, it was great but still missing several things we would like to see. We would regularly send in feature requests. Unlike most other vendors we deal with, iSpring programmers have implemented ALL of my requests regarding QuizMaker. (Although these frequent updates and enhancements are welcome, they do cause us a fair amount of work to update and republish all of our existing quizzes).
In using dozens of software programs over the last few decades, we have discovered the importance of technical support. In our experience, iSpring has one of the best support systems! Usually, I can instantly get an answer to a technical question using chat at their website. For more complex questions, I can submit a support ticket that is responded to within a day or so. I am also impressed by the fact that iSpring technical support staff really seem to care about “my” problem and are willing to take the time and effort to thoroughly investigate it, fix it or at least provide a reasonable workaround. This has certainly not been our experience with other vendors.
Here is a recent example of going the extra step to serve a client. We noticed that after a recent update of QuizMaker, there was an issue with the audio sounds on the feedback slides. For all of our quiz feedback slides, the audio player controls became enabled. While this is a very useful feature, we prefer our audio feed to play automatically. The only way to change this, if we wanted to update our quizzes to this version of QM, was to do it question by question. Given the fact that we manage some 15,000 questions, this would have taken us months to do.
So I notified iSpring of this audio playback issue providing specific information on how to replicate it. (This issue probably did not affect most developers since we are likely a rare group that provides audio feedback). So I offered to pay iSpring to develop a custom script for us to fix it. However, iSpring acknowledged the issue immediately, and informed me that they would fix it in the next release. I was expecting to wait months before I could update my quizzes. But within 5 working days, iSpring send me a link to the fixed version so that I could download it. I was impressed!
I was even more impressed when several days later, they publicly released an update to QM which not only fixed that audio issue, but also added several new enhancements! Now that is excellence in customer service and support! None of the other vendors I deal with have ever come even close to providing this level of service.
In conclusion, iSpring QuizMaker is the best quiz development software on this planet! Their technical support and customer care is extraordinary! I highly recommend QuizMaker and iSpring.
Our company runs a franchise network of over 300 pizza restaraunts all over the world and we use iSpring to create interactive e-learning courses for our partners and restaurant managers. Before, we hosted live webinars to teach our franchisees but this approach proved itself ineffective. Back then, we were only capable of teaching ~70 managers a month. Now that we have our own learning portal and an in-house team of content creators, we have 400 students enrolled in the training and 1-2 new modules coming our every week. iSpring has some really cool features like quizzes and dialogue simulations which helped us make our training more appealing to users. It’s easy to learn and easy to use so I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to start their own corporate training in short time, all on their own.
I have been using iSpring for more than 10 years. Initially, I started using it for converting my PowerPoint files into swf files, to post my presentations on my website for my students to have access to the content after the lecture. Why do I like this software?
iSpring Suite is a very beneficial tool to create HTML5 based video, screencasts, and other materials in seconds. The technical support team is very helpful, and they are easily approachable at any time.
iSpring Suite as an add on software platform to PowerPoint has been an amazing, easy to use, affordable addition to improve my ability to create engaging and entertaining education modules for the staff at our medical facility. I would recommend this software any time!
I'm a huge fan. Their technical support is outstanding. Their product is unparalleled. Our deck it's far more impressive as a result of ISpring and their technology.
I have been an iSpring user for a little over 4 years now and have found the product and additional tools (such as the CamPro application) very user friendly and able to meet my clients needs quickly and effectively. A key reason I stay is their support team, chat is always there and the response is very fast. They provide links to directions and screen shots (complete with arrows and steps for people like me!) providing a solution to the problem I have brought to them. Sound, good tool backed up with an incredible support team.
