IrfanView is not a simple viewer. Take all of what qView does away from IrfanView and you still have a complete program. qView appears to be a good program just not an alternative to IrfanView.
0Only processes single images, no way to look at folders or organize.

It lacks the simplicity and the 'just-works' feel of Irfan. gThumb keeps resizing images, doesn't respond logically to a scroll wheel and has an overal annoying interface.
1gThumb does not have some of the more important and convenient features found in IrfanView.

Comments about XnView MP as an Alternative to IrfanView
XnView has dozens of tools and filters for fast image editing, as well as an integrated file manager with several functions to organize images. Besides everything runs on both Windows and Linux. It's a bit slow compared to Irfanview, but it's still one of the best programs of its kind.
After enabling the "Show files in subfolders" option, it crashes with tens of thousands of images. IrfanView in the same situation works flawlessly (apart from the fact that it does not save the generated thumbnails to the database for quick reuse).
one can't even delete images in fullscreen
