I think that XDM is a very good alternative to IDM because it allows you to download videos on many sites other than YouTube (ENI platform, LinkedIn for example) like IDM does. On the other hand, IDM sometimes preserves the file name while XDM does not, which is annoying if you download a series of videos because you have to rename everything by hand. Translation FR OK.

Video grabber sucks. Make it like Eagleget browser video grabber. Show found videos on browser addon's logo at browser toolbar. That would be very nice touch.

It has download speed that very similar to IDM. It can grab and download videos. But as an opensource non-profit project, it has bugs in video grabber. And video grabbing not good as like as IDM.

The best IDM alternative was EagleGet but it's discontinued. So now, XDM is the best alternative.

..in my opinion, the latest stable version (7.xx) is better than the beta version (8.xx) , faster download, no lags, no crashes, faster response, add to that the GUI interface looks much better than the beta version..BUT in general, I'm not gonna rise my hand and agree that this OS-IDM is equal to / better than IDM, still lacks a lot of features and needs some improvements...briefly, consider it as one of the best OS-IDM but definitely not the N°1 ...
