What is InstaFind?

InstaFind is a free, open-source (MIT) file search tool for Windows 10/11, written in Rust. It indexes your drives once, keeps the index current as files change, and shows results while you type.

It understands Arabic as people actually type it: it ignores hamza forms, ta marbuta, alef maqsura, diacritics and the definite article prefix, fixes text typed on the wrong keyboard layout, and reads Arabizi (Arabic written in Latin letters and numbers).

It also searches inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, RTF, ODT, e-mail, epub and zip/7z archives, and inside images and scanned PDFs using the OCR engine built into Windows. Fully offline, one portable exe, Arabic and English UI.
