ImChatty

ImChatty is a free language exchange platform where learners chat with native speakers and other learners from around the world. Members set the language they are learning, their level, and how much correction they want, then match with partners for reciprocal exchange or casual practice.

When no human partner is available, an AI conversation partner is available for English, French, Chinese and Russian. It offers guided role-play scenarios (ordering at a café, job interviews, travel situations) or open-ended chat, with optional corrections, explanations, and audio playback.

The site also includes CEFR placement tests, exam-prep hubs for tests such as TCF and TEF, and a directory of tutors whose profiles are reviewed before they can be booked for paid one-on-one video lessons.

Core chat and language exchange are free. A guest can try AI practice without signing up, a free account raises the daily limits, and tutor lessons are paid per session.
