I signed up for an account almost a year ago and paid with a credit card. I went to renew and it kept giving me an error ("Something went wrong with your credit card payment") despite using the exact same card as before. I reached out to customer support and they said, "direct credit card purchases are no longer available and your purchase is not being accepted by our payment processors. What is Hushed?
Hushed is a mobile app that allows users to buy a phone number for privacy on a temporary or permanent basis. It also includes an Encrypted Messenger for secure communications. Users can get local numbers from over 60 countries, enabling private calls, anonymous texts, and caller ID masking. The app allows management of multiple lines for personal and business use.
Hushed is easy to use and prioritizes privacy, with no contracts or complex sign-up procedures. Its main feature is the option to 'burn' numbers after use, leaving no trace. It's useful for online dating, local classifieds transactions, and business professionals who want an extra number on their device without needing a second phone or SIM card.
Hushed also caters to international users and travelers, offering local numbers to avoid long-distance or roaming charges. It provides subscription plans for unlimited calling and texting within North America, with numbers from the US or Canada.

They never notified me of any change in their terms and (as of writing this review) both their website and app still show the ability to pay with credit card. Unacceptable.
