What is Hostsmith?

Hostsmith publishes static sites and individual files - HTML folders, PDFs, images, ZIPs, or video - to a public HTTPS URL in seconds. Drag a folder or file in, get a live link back. There is no CMS, build pipeline, Git integration, or plugin marketplace: Hostsmith takes an existing artifact live, it does not author content.

Every site can sit on a custom domain with automatic HTTPS, and access can be restricted by password or email rather than only being public. EU data residency is available as a paid option for agencies and consultancies whose clients require hosting to stay in the EU; EU-hosted sites are served from Germany. New sites default to US hosting.

Hostsmith can also be driven programmatically through a REST API and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so AI clients like Claude and Cursor can publish sites and files to a live URL directly from a chat.

The free tier needs an account but no credit card. Paid tiers add custom domains, password-protected pages, and the EU residency option.

Typical users: designers and studios sharing prototypes and client deliverables, agencies and freelancers under data-residency requirements, consultants and educators distributing PDFs and course materials with controlled access, and developers needing a low-friction publish target for static output and one-off landing pages.
