How can you define rules for a given application?

  • you can not! (only some pre-configured "apps", which are not apps, only ports)
  • only IP(tables) and port ranges...

Why can't you :

  • choose a program
  • set the port that it can use,
  • set the direction (in or out) or set a service to it if the program needs it ?

It's just a gui to ufw, not a firewall. If you want to see a gui what looks uglier than cli, this is for you :) If you want a "firewall" with 2 buttons, this is for you :) If you want to see a software that haven't changed in the last 20 years, this is for you :) Jk, it's not for you. Pure garbage. No one should use it.
