gtk-gnutella Alternatives
gtk-gnutella is described as 'server/client for Gnutella. It runs on every Unix-like system which supports GTK+ (1.2 or above) and libxml. The GNOME desktop environment is not required. It is currently developed and tested under Linux (Debian) as well as NetBSD' and is an app in the file sharing category. There are four alternatives to gtk-gnutella for Linux, Mac, Windows, Haiku and Java Mobile. The best alternative is MuWire, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like gtk-gnutella are WireShare, Phex and BeShare.
MuWire is a file-sharing application that works on top of I2P. It is inspired by the LimeWire Gnutella client, but it's completely anonymous.

ZeroNet_ioit allows anonymous file sharing, messaging - even it is slower over I2P
Phex is a peer-to-peer file sharing client for the Gnutella network. It is free software and without spyware or adware. Phex is released under the GNU General Public License. Phex is based on Java technology and therefore available for many different systems that offer a Java 1.

Last stable update was in Feb 2009. See http://www.phex.org/mambo/
BeShare is a file-sharing program for BeOS. You can use it to swap files with your fellow BeOS users. If you've ever used Napster or Gnutella, you have a pretty good idea of how it works.
