What is Grip - Get a Grip on Your Script?

We were in pre-production on a feature film and as we were using one of the most recognizable breakdown sites in the industry, the stripboard function broke and was broken for three days. Meanwhile, we were paying >$100 a month for this software.

We got tired of expensive, clunky legacy software. So, we solved the problem ourselves.

Grip was built throughout a real shoot, in the language pros use — stripboards, boneyards, DOOD. The prop master wound up using Grip every morning to check his daily duties.

Grip is free, requires no account, runs in any browser and data stays on your machine. Open a tab, drag in a script, done.

Want to share with your team? Just e-mail them the lightweight Grip file, send them to the site, and they're in.

Don't have your own script to break down? Find a PDF of your favorite movie and drop it in.
