My Spanish Teacher Hates Me

We once had to write a passage in Spanish, about 2 pages long. I wasn't bothered enough, so I went straight onto Google Translator and did the deed. Next thing I know is I am on a week long detention course. My fault, but be warned not to use it when you are not supposed to, because it has its faults!

like all machine translation it's not without faults

It gets it right enough that even if it's a bit off you still get the basic gist of the sentence.
sure there is room for improvement but it gets the job done and is there when you need it.

My favorite daily translation tool is the portable version of Lingoes Translator (1) on a synced SugarSync Folder
Lingoes Translator includes Google Translate and Yahoo Translation or Babelfish and you can compare the translations of many sources.
After installation (many languages) it works with individually selectable dictionaries or online translation services. I like it very much, that I get a quick translation of a text, if I copy it in the clipboard. This is really very comfortable.
The portable version is ideal for use on my Sugarsync folders, which are synchronized on my 2 computers (office and private).

SugarSync also available for WM, as a portable-app and with free 2.5-10 GB instead only 2GB

SugarSync has 3 advantages in comparison with other online-memory services:
(A)
Link to the download of the portable app:
http://www.portable.bg/en/component/search/Sugarsync/?ordering=&searchphrase=all
The portable SugarSync-app should be able to run even on a computer, where you do not have administrator rights
for the installation procedure, e.g. to run from a USB-memory-stick
(B)
With the following Bonus-Registration link you start SugarSync (only a few weeks) with 2.5 GB instead normally only 2.0 GB: http://bit.ly/bxgp6f and you can reach a maximum of 10GB and more for free usage.
(C) SugarSync is available for Windows Mobile

Hello Aaron!
I have immediately tested your tip and with http://www.frengly.com a translation have made German to English and then the same text with PROMT translator. Unfortunately, were with frengly.com immediately several clear mistakes.
I am almost inspired by PROMT translator of the perfection. I have never got this quality with Google Translate. This was rough always a little bit. Also this comment was written in German and translated by PROMT. PROMT is obviously highly professional translation software which may be used limited up to 3000 characters also free of charge. I had to do manually only one correction.

Yes they do good, but again sometimes they are not going to get it correct. I had to switch between various, because they all would do different in different situations. You can also try Frengly I sometimes can get it do better:

I used this translator a lot when I took a language class at school. it is not always accurate, but if you know the language, then it helps get you the little translations done quickly and then you can fix a few things that it did not get right.
