SketchUp (formerly Google Sketchup) is a 3D modeling computer program for a wide range of drawing applications such as architectural, interior design, civil and mechanical engineering, film, and video game design—and available in a freeware version, SketchUp Make, and a paid version with additional functionality, SketchUp Pro.

I do almost all my work offline. An Online Sketchup is useless to me.

Frankly, they have not improve it much over the years
I don't like that they paywall exporting the model to a file. Otherwise, it's easy to use.
SketchUp has been bought out from Google by Trimble, with the only goal to make as much cash as they can. Since then, SketchUp has been a useless trash app, used as cash-cow to trap unadvised users, thinking it is the same old tool. Don't fall for this scam, there is much better for cheaper elsewhere.
Sketchup is really good to quickly draw some ideas in 3D at actual scale. "Much better for cheaper elsehwere."? Ok. Can you provide some names?
As others have mentioned the older version is quite capable. "Self-taught" aka watch YouTube tutorials and some patience is what you need to start using this amazing piece of software.
