What is GI JI?
GI JI imports your own PDFs, Word files, notes and permitted web pages and indexes them on your own machine. Ask a question and the answer arrives with the exact stored passage it used, one click away. Ask something your library does not cover and it refuses and says so, rather than composing a plausible answer.
It keeps original sources separate from reviewed knowledge. AI may draft a candidate note from a cited passage, but that note stays inert until you have read it, edited it and approved it - nothing derived becomes reusable without a person deciding it should.
Private on your computer is the default. Documents, index, questions and notes stay in a folder you own. Two AI models run locally through Ollama, and after the first setup download it answers with no internet connection. Optional connected AI is off by default, uses your own OpenAI key, and shows you the exact request - model, size, question and every passage - for approval before anything is sent.
Free edition: 20 documents, 3 saved notes, no time limit. Personal: $79 one-time, no subscription, 14-day money-back guarantee.
macOS 14 or later is the supported release, signed and notarized by Apple. Microsoft is signing the Windows build now and the same Windows app is available today as a direct download. Linux is a technical preview.
