What is Garlic Player?
Garlic Player is a cross-platform media player for digital signage, built around the open SMIL 3.0 standard. Since it reads playlists from any SMIL-compatible source, local file, HTTP server, or a CMS like Garlic Hub, you are never locked into one vendor's backend.
With the 1.0 release, the player runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, all from a shared C++/Qt codebase. It supports multi-zone layouts, wallclock scheduling, priority-based content switching, and media caching, plus webcam and microphone access for interactive content. No tracking, no ads, no subscription.
