TrueNAS is the simplest way to create a centralized and easily accessible place for your data' and is a popular app in the File Sharing category. There are more than 10 alternatives to TrueNAS for a variety of platforms, including Linux, Windows, Mac, Self-Hosted solutions and VMware vSphere Hypervisor. The best alternative is OpenMediaVault, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like TrueNAS are XigmaNAS (Free, Open Source), Unraid (Paid), Rockstor (Free, Open Source) and FuguHub (Free Personal).
