What is frame-perf-overlay?

A small performance panel for the Steam Frame. It stays in view inside SteamVR and shows the app's frame rate, GPU and CPU load, temperatures, power draw, battery levels and the Steam Link wireless link, so you can see at a glance why a game stutters or the headset gets hot. It runs on the headset itself (aarch64 SteamOS) as an OpenVR overlay.

Recorded inside the headset while playing Half-Life: Alyx (no sound). The panel stays in the lower left, and the Perf tab of the SteamVR dashboard changes its position, size and language.

The panel follows your head and sits in the lower left of your view by default. It can also be worn on your left or right controller like a wristwatch, and it shows the time on its bottom line. Where it's attached, position, facing, size, opacity, clock and language (English / Japanese) can be changed from the SteamVR dashboard.
