100% It's similar to Discord, of course — it doesn't have all the features, but I like it. It has everything you need for communication, it's open-source, and they'll be adding federation and encryption soon.

What is Fluxer?
Fluxer is an open-source platform for instant messaging and VoIP communications, designed to facilitate interaction among friends, groups, and communities. Users can direct message, participate in group chats, and create communities through organized channels. It supports Markdown in messages, file sharing, link previews, and allows for multi-device calls with screen sharing, noise suppression, and echo cancellation.
Fluxer provides moderation tools including roles, permissions, audit logs, webhooks, and bots support. It features a search function, a quick switcher for easy navigation, and options to manage friends and block users.
Users can customize Fluxer by uploading emojis, stickers, and saving media for later use. The app can be styled with custom CSS themes and offers display options. Fluxer can be self-hosted on personal hardware and is open source under the AGPLv3 license. It has a desktop client, with a mobile version under development. Users can switch between multiple instances.

Comments and Reviews
I like Fluxer because it is open source and self-hostable. But at the moment is pretty slow, which is probably linked to the recent Discord controversy.
rumors says it's vibecoded, it has been made on a rush since discord started to suck, and their main instance ToS/moderation are just baby crying type of stuff. has a subscription on their main instance which locks EXACTLY the same features as discord (which is pretty limiting already). they will also randomly lock your account entirely you and ask you for a phone number to "verify you're not a bot" if you're not prudent enough (yep, just like discord, again), which is already privacy-invasive. technically, it's just like discord, so there's no actual improvement. if you won't self-host fluxer, it's really not a good idea to use it.

I have a lot of hope for Fluxer, but being as new as it is it's currently struggling a lot with downtime issues. At least the dev gives more of a hoot than the Stoat dev seems to.
Promising in theory but the way it has been built as a copy of Discord down to the infrastructure plagues it with constant downtime
I only tried the web version for now, it works pretty slow at the moment. It looking good as discord and could be a good alternative to it, since discord is banned in Turkey.
