What is Fitlock?

Fitlock is an iPhone app blocker that keeps your most distracting apps locked until you've moved. Pick the apps or websites you lose time to (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, whatever it is for you), set a daily goal, and they stay blocked until you hit it. It runs on Apple's Screen Time, so the block works across the whole phone, not just inside one app.

Goals can be steps, a workout, stand time, cycling distance, meditation, time outside or getting to a location. Push-ups and squats are counted with your phone's camera, on the device. A typical rule looks like "1,000 steps and 45 minutes of exercise earns me an extra hour".

You choose when blocking is on, say 9 to 5 on weekdays with Sundays left open. If you need to get in, you can take a break, but every extra break makes the next wait longer. Strict Mode takes breaks away completely. The Stats tab puts your screen time next to your step count, so you can see whether it's working.

The free version gives you one schedule, two blocked apps or sites and one goal (steps, wheelchair pushes or push-ups). Pro adds unlimited schedules, allowlist mode, every goal type, combined goals and Strict Mode. Health data stays on your phone. Available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese.
