But do not use their downloader
This is a great little, simple updater-checker! Does the job!
This doesn't work for me any more, and lots of people have posted complains on FileHippo.com. The developers don't seem to be maintaining it or responding to comments or emails.
It still works for me, I know it's not updated for a long time, but it's still giving me updates.
Bad suggestions. It keeps offering beta versions and there's no way to tell the software to only offer stable releases. To keep installing beta versions is riskier than having old stavble ones; so not a good tool.
forces us to use its downloader which contain bloatware
It did its job wonderfully in the past. However a few months ago it changed its approach and now forces you to use their "downloader" tool, while trying to bait you into installing extra software with common tactics used by recent installers (options for installing programs checked by default, or disguised as user agreements).
Sorry but IMO using this app nowadays is like playing russian roulette. You never know when you are accidentally going to fall for one of the tricks and end up installing unwanted crap.
