The author announced that the development is discontinued on March 14, 2013, but FeedDemon is still downloadable from the official website. It will continue to work without Google Reader synchronization beyond July 1, 2013.

FeedDemon is closing because of Google Reader's shutting down.
He's stopping development. People can still download and use FeedDemon. No idea why it's greyed-out in the list here.

I really wish they would make this available in the Linux platform. Its a good and solid program I bought the Pro version, thanks. Hope that the developers can get pressure from the Linux community to be able to port this over there. Thanks!
This is my fav desktop read on Windows. You don't suffer from the 'lag' of any web browser, folder view, 'newspaper' few, feed search, NEW feed search, marking whole pages 'read', scanning a homepage for it's feeds... and most importantly DIRECT sync with GOOGLE READER!!
