Free and reliable app store with pleasantly looking modern interface

This is an extremely minor reskin of the fdroid client with no noticeable functionality changes. People say it has more apps, but that's just because it comes with the izzyondroid repository pre-installed. You can also add that to f-droid itself for the same effect.

Both Aurora and F-Droid allow users to access large libraries of safe, official APKs and keep them updated. However, the F-Droid library focuses on marking apps that have potentially unwanted behaviors, and entirely excluding malicious behaviors like ads. The Aurora store is just an anonymous way to access Google Play, and the apps on it are not screened for antifeatures- because Google loves antifeatures!

While you can optionally update apps installed through F-droid via Aurora, you can't add F-droid repositories to it, so, as the other comment states, it's a play store alternative and not a F-droid one.

It serves a different purpose than F-Droid and is more of an alternative to the Play Store in reality.

Much cleaner UI/UX than F-Droid IMO. Plus, option to auto-update, multiple app repository syncing and better search engine.

Has a nice Interface and more options than F-Doid, but also a major downside: It doesn't list the Links for Creator-Websites or the Source-Code of apps

This is a repository of apps that(mostly) are missing from F-Droid for one reason or another. IoD does not have any app of its own. You can add this repository to the F-Droid app and use both together, so calling this an alternative is misleading.

Make sure to add their repo to the many available F-Droid apps!

Very good approach with important added data. F-Droid just has no ratings, searching by Developer, Commenting. But it is no longer developed and unstable, so no good alternative poorly.

Same repository as F-Droid, but adds more information (such as author, and other apps by said author) Github/Gitlab(?) rating and release cycle/rolling stages.

As of writing this (January 8, 2019) G-Droid is still BETA but very functional, I personally use it (along side F-Droid)

I was about to say that no other F-Droid app allows for deep searching of your repos but then I discovered that Droid-ify does that now so consider use that instead.

(You should still have regular F-Droid installed of course)

Important source of closed-source apps or previous versions. Pretty annoying to use, and not a replacement for F-Droid, but important
