Love love love this app. I've tried basically all of the free offline macOS dictation apps (MacWhisper, Spokenly) and this one beats them to become my daily driver. The reason why is it uses the super fast NVIDIA Parakeet model paired with a custom-tuned local AI cleanup model that runs very fast but still does a good job. So the output is faster than Whisper models while being just as accurate with punctuation and proper nouns (something Parakeet struggles with when dictating). There are a few...

What is EnviousWispr?
EnviousWispr is a free macOS dictation app that runs entirely on your Mac. Hold a hotkey, speak, release. Polished text lands on your clipboard or pastes directly into whatever app has focus. Transcription uses on-device speech models (Parakeet for English, WhisperKit for multilingual) optimized for Apple Silicon's Neural Engine.
AI polish (filler removal, punctuation, light tone adjustment) turns raw speech into clean, finished text. It runs fully on-device via Apple Intelligence or Ollama, or via a cloud provider like OpenAI or Anthropic if you bring your own API key. Default is on-device. Your audio never leaves your Mac unless you explicitly choose a cloud polish provider.
No account, no signup, no subscription. Open source (GPLv3).

There are a few QOL features it could use, but it's already in a very good place.
