ParrotFlow is a dictation app for macOS. Hold a key, speak, and the text is pasted where you type. Speech is turned into text on your Mac with Parakeet. There is no account, and no audio leaves the computer.
After transcription, small steps clean up the text. Each one makes one narrow edit or leaves the text alone: a full stop, a capital, a filler word, a number. ParrotFlow reads the window you dictate into, so a name on screen, such as CaretAnchor, is spelled correctly when you say it.
You can add your own rules and scripts in a YAML config. A rule is a pattern and a replacement, for example "PR 478" to #478 in the terminal. A script reads the text on stdin and writes the result on stdout. A language model is optional and runs only if you add one, on your Mac through Ollama or with a cloud key.
ParrotFlow is free and open source (GPL-3.0). It needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later, and installs with Homebrew.
