Learn more about enGrid

  1. Blender is the free and open-source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing, video editing, and motion tracking.

  2. Wings 3D

    • FreeOpen Source
    • Mac
    • Windows
    • Linux

Wings 3D is a subdivision modeler inspired by Nendo and Mirai from Izware.

It is possible to assign materials, vertex color, UV coordinates and textures, but there will be improvements in those features before Wings goes 1.0.

There is no support in Wings for doing animations.

  3. Gmsh

    • FreeOpen Source
    • Mac
    • Windows
    • Linux

Gmsh is a 3D finite element grid generator with a build-in CAD engine and post-processor. Its design goal is to provide a fast, light and user-friendly meshing tool with parametric input and advanced visualization capabilities.

  4. SALOME

    • FreeOpen Source
    • Windows
    • Linux

SALOME can be used as standalone application for generation of CAD models, their preparation for numerical calculations and post-processing of the calculation results.

  5. MagicaCSG

    • FreeProprietary
    • Windows

A lightweight signed distance field editor and renderer.

  6. Sensei Format & the Blender Crash Course were created with each other in mind (blendersensei.com/blender-crash-course). The idea being, make Blender easier to learn and use.
