What is elcapture?

elcapture is a macOS proxy for inspecting and modifying HTTP(S) traffic across applications. It can decrypt protocols like HTTPS, HTTP/2, WebSocket, gRPC, and Server-Sent Events. Features include pausing requests and responses, mocking responses, mapping remote hosts, rewriting with regex, applying JSON patches, and running scripts in JavaScript, Python, or Rhai.

For mobile projects, elcapture integrates its certificate into the Android system store via adb, supports Android 14+, sets the device proxy, starts frida-server, and ensures its certificate is trusted in every booted iOS Simulator. It also includes an API client, request comparison, sessions, a fuzzer, a passive security scanner, and models calls to OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini, showing token counts and estimated costs.

elcapture is built in Rust with a GPU-rendered user interface. It doesn't require an account and all traffic stays on your Mac, with no rule restrictions.
