What is DropAir?

DropAir moves selected photos, videos, documents and folders between devices on the same local network. Open dropair.online on both devices, connect through nearby discovery, a private pairing link or QR code, then select the receiving device. No account or desktop installation is required.

You can also paste or type text, send it to a connected device and copy it there. Clipboard contents are not read automatically. On desktop Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, choose a receiving folder so incoming files save there directly. Other browsers use Download or Save/share. Folder access may need reconnecting after reopening the browser.

File contents travel directly between devices rather than through a cloud file relay. Keep both pages open. Internet access is needed to load the site and establish the connection; VPNs and isolated guest networks can prevent discovery or transfers.

DropAir is an independent AirDrop alternative for compatible browsers on Windows, macOS, Linux and mobile devices. It does not use Apple’s AirDrop protocol. An iOS photo and video library backup feature is being tested for v1.1; it is not part of the currently available browser-only workflow.
