What is DoubleMemory?

DoubleMemory is a Apple-native app that allows users to save links and texts without the need for browser extensions, using a clipboard trick (double ? + C) on Mac and syncs over to all your other Apple Devices. The saved items are displayed in a beautiful waterfall grid with Apple native preview cards, offering a well-designed experience that supports all kinds of links.

There are hundreds of save-it-later and bookmarking apps out there, what makes DoubleMemory different?

  • No extension required: you don't need to install an extension for every single browser you use. Just double ? + C. On the iPhone, You can also double tap back of the phone or trigger our Shortcut via the Action Button to capture the current Safari link or any clipboard content.
  • Apple Native: written in Swift and memory footprint is much smaller (~5x) than Electron or browser based apps, with purposefully designed Mac, iOS and iPadOS interfaces.
  • No server required, offline-first, CloudKit synced: there are no dev-controlled servers, your content is hosted on iCloud with your trusted Apple iCloud. Also means we have a much less chance of being shutdown (e.g.: Omnivore).
  • No accounts needed: why keep an account when your content is already saved on your machine and backed up to iCloud?
  • Double as a clipboard manager: you may not use one already, but it can be handy when you need it.
  • No browser required: since it works with system clipboard, it works with any selected text, not just a browser.
  • Fastest to Access: just a cmd + shift + space (or any other custom shortcut) away.
  • Visual board: all the content you captured will be displayed on a Pinterest like waterfall layout.
  • Saved Search: pin any query to the top bar to easily tag any items and return back with one tap.

We believe that an offline-first, serverless, account-free, and extension-free native architecture will provide privacy and control unrivaled by any server-based architecture. While we're in the early days, we have built a solid foundation to evolve from.

All the capturing features are free and unlimited for free users, paid users get to unlock unlimited Saved Search so you can quickly organize your items.
