@bawldiggle, Thank you for informing us! That was possibly the worst privacy policies I have ever read... Horrible. But I dont understand why you chose those details of the policy to tell us about, thats just the "soft stuff"
And they must have had to change the age, its 16 now, lol, a search engine you have to be 16 to use. With that privacy policy Im really surprised its not 18.
I thought this was nice- Your browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to online services you visit, including our Services. Note, however, there is no industry consensus as to what site and app operators should do with regard to these signals. Accordingly, unless and until the law is interpreted to require us to do so, we do not monitor or take action with respect to “Do Not Track” signals.
Oh, and if you read on "who are we" they are passionate entrepreneurs with 999+ karaoke songs sung...Not creepy at all
It's a decent metasearch engine.
As others have noted, it does not respect your privacy. But the results are decent if you can look past all the ad garbage.
Dogpile services are not intended for children under the age of 13. ( ¿ )
Dogpile tracks you ...
During initial trial before I searched for anything, 5 cookie domains.
They do collect users personal information:
name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, or any other identifier for online or offline contact
The do not directly collect:
IP address, referal data, browser, platform type, internet connection, your IT equipment etc, etc
Unless it comes to them by other means ( ¿ )
Any one considering using "Dogpile" should read their their Privacy Policy
If you value your privacy read it.
IMO it reads like a pea-n-thimbles trick ... now you see it now you dont.
All promises but no guarantees.
