What is NeoSearch?

NeoSearch is a private, ad-free web search engine built on a simple premise: search didn't get worse because the web got worse, but because the incentives did. NeoSearch removes those incentives entirely: no ads, no cookies, no IP logging, no profiles, no search history. Every search is an anonymous event. Privacy is the default and only state.

It's also more than a private search box. NeoSearch treats the results themselves as the problem worth solving. AI-driven ranking assesses how commercial, official, or independent each result is, moving independent sources up and affiliate listicles and keyword-farmed content down. Titles and snippets are rewritten to say what a page actually is, instead of whatever an SEO team wrote to win the click. Duplicate results are merged into single entries enriched from multiple databases. And Lenses resolve ambiguous queries cleanly: search "eagles" and flip between the rock band and the football team.

NeoSearch is transparent about how it works, including the part most competitors would bury. Today it takes the top results from Google's index as raw material and applies its own heavy processing on top, thorough enough that a result buried at position twenty elsewhere can surface first. Next comes crawling the overlooked parts of the web, and the long-term goal is an open, distributed search index that anyone can build their own engine on. The aim was never to become the next search giant, but to make search something that doesn't require being one. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.

Founder Bart Jellema, a Sydney-based engineer who previously co-founded and sold the coupon aggregator Tjoos, funds the project personally: no investors, no ads, ever. Future revenue (API access, disclosed affiliate links) will never influence rankings.

NeoSearch is free and works in any browser. Private, ad-free, independent search: serving users, not shareholders.
