Hi all — I'm the developer of DocWeave. I built it because documenting processes with Word + a screenshot tool was painfully slow, and the good web alternatives are all subscription + cloud-only.

DocWeave is a Windows desktop app: paste a screenshot, annotate it (numbered callouts, arrows, blur/redaction), add other blocks like checklists or tables, and export to PDF, HTML, Word, PowerPoint or Markdown. It runs fully offline, no account needed.

It's a one-person project, so I read every bit of feedback — happy to answer questions or take feature requests here. There's a free 15-day trial if you want to try it.

What is DocWeave?

DocWeave is a Windows desktop app for turning annotated screenshots into polished step-by-step documentation — standard operating procedures (SOPs), training manuals, runbooks, and how-to guides — in minutes.

Capture or paste a screenshot, mark it up with numbered callouts, arrows, highlight boxes, spotlights, blur and redaction, then arrange your steps and export. Beyond screenshots, DocWeave includes 27 content block types — quizzes, checklists, data tables, flowcharts, timelines, RACI matrices, tabbed panels, video embeds, key takeaways, warnings/notes and more — so a single document can be as rich as it needs to be.

Every document exports to multiple self-contained formats: print-ready PDF, interactive offline HTML, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Markdown, or a ZIP bundle with all assets. Apply your own logo, accent colours, themes (light/dark) and reusable export profiles so output reflects your organisation, not a template.

Works fully offline. No account required. Free 15-day trial, then a one-time lifetime licence or an affordable annual subscription — no feature paywalls.
