What is Crush CLI?
Crush is an open-source, terminal-based AI coding agent built in Go by Charm (charmbracelet), designed to bring agentic coding directly into your shell with a polished TUI experience.
Runs as both an interactive Bubble Tea-powered TUI and a scriptable CLI (crush run for one-shot prompts).
Multi-model support across Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, AWS Bedrock, Azure, Copilot, MiniMax, Vercel, and any OpenAI/Anthropic-compatible endpoint, with the ability to switch models mid-session while preserving context.
Session-based conversations with persistent SQLite storage, letting you maintain multiple work contexts per project.
LSP (Language Server Protocol) integration for real-time diagnostics and symbol-aware context, just like a human developer would use.
Extensible via MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and a built-in skills system, plus a granular permission system gating file and shell access.
Crush's support for local/self-hosted OpenAI-compatible endpoints alongside major cloud providers makes it a flexible option if you want to avoid vendor lock-in.
