What is CreateFiles+?
I built CreateFiles+, a small macOS utility for one of those weirdly persistent Mac annoyances: creating a new blank file in the folder you are already looking at.
On macOS, if I want a quick .txt, .md, .json, .csv, HTML, code file, or Office document, the default flow is still awkward: open an app, create a file, save it somewhere, then move it into the right folder. Or drop into Terminal and use touch.
CreateFiles+ adds that missing workflow back into the Mac:
- Create new files from Finder
- Use the Finder toolbar, menu bar, or a keyboard shortcut
- Create Text, Markdown, CSV, JSON, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, shell scripts, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files
- Add custom file types and templates
- Batch-create files with naming patterns
- Save reusable Folder Packs for project setups
It is local-first: no account, no cloud sync, and file contents stay on your Mac.
The direct version has a 7-day trial and is $4.99 one-time for up to 2 Macs: https://createfilesplus.com/
