What is Cove RSS Reader?

Cove is an RSS reader built specifically for macOS, designed around the idea that a feed reader should build a library rather than an inbox. When a feed publishes only a headline and a teaser, Cove fetches the complete article in the background and stores it on your Mac, so the full text is waiting whether or not you get to it that day.

Everything Cove downloads stays local. There is no account to create and no server holding your subscriptions, and articles are never rotated out of the archive automatically. If you subscribed to a feed three years ago, those posts are still readable and still searchable. Removing a feed does not throw away what you already collected either, since archived articles can be restored in one click.

Reading happens in a native Mac interface with full keyboard navigation. You can switch between the publisher's own layout and a stripped-down reader view, save passages as clips with your own notes attached, and set older unread items aside so they stop crowding the list without being marked as read. A listen mode narrates articles aloud using on-device voices, and search covers the entire library rather than just recent items. Subscriptions can be imported from other readers and exported again at any time.

Cove requires macOS 15 or later and is currently in public beta.
