What is CookieMop?
CookieMop is an open-source Chrome extension that automatically deletes cookies and site data for the sites you visit, the moment you close their last tab. Sites on your whitelist are never cleaned, so you stay logged in where you choose; greylisted sites are kept until the browser closes. A badge on the toolbar shows how many cookies the current site has set, and the cleanup scope is adjustable from cookies only up to localStorage, IndexedDB, CacheStorage and Service Workers.
It was built as a Manifest V3 successor to Cookie AutoDelete, which stopped working when Chrome removed Manifest V2 extensions, and it imports Cookie AutoDelete's exported whitelist in one click.
The extension makes zero network requests: no analytics, no accounts, no ads, no remote code. The entire runtime is plain JavaScript with no build step and no dependencies, and the store build is produced from the public source code, so the privacy claims can be verified by reading it.
The core is free permanently. An optional one-time purchase adds rule profiles (separate rule sets for work and personal browsing, switched with one click) and a per-cookie whitelist (clean a site while keeping the one cookie that holds your login).
